Hampton Inn Lockport - Buffalo

At first glance this looked like a four or five star review, but it missed on so many details. Very friendly and pleasant staff, nice decor and amenities, good breakfast. But *thin* walls and floors, a rather lower class and therefore loud clientele, really ruined the value for us. Many of the construction and maintenance details also became apparent over a few days. If you don't mind noise this is a nice hotel. For peace and quiet better look again.

The hotel is descent, most staffs are friendly. Had a good experience with a front desk lady (she pregnant, bless her) but then a very unpleasant experience with another of the front desk. Told her my room card doesn't work. She doubt me and ask if i have put it with my cellphone. I said no. She re-scanned my card. I told her my wife already did the same thing (rescan) with the other staff. She didn't believe me. I asked her nicely "would it work?" And she replied impatiently "why wouldn't it if I re scanned it". Turned out it didn't work. I opened my room with the other key card for my family and went to her again. First thing she said was "I saw you opened your room", I told her I used my other room card. And then she just repeated that I opened my room, still not believing that the card was faulted. Why is it so hard to just trust your customer that one card is faulted? What's so difficult that prevents you from just changing to a new card? I took the card from the table, said you can come with me and try it. She then plays the victim card and says I am being rude and she is not coming upstairs with me, implying I am rude and threatening. Good try gaslighting. Meanwhile she is the one putting up an unhappy face the whole time, no greeting, ignoring me when I tried to small talk and loosen the tension, just a very unhappy employee lash out on a confused and upset customer. Being in the US for over 10 years and worst hotel front desk encountered so far. Hope there is no new low.

After a 12 hour drive, arriving at this Hampton Inn was a slice of heaven. The hotel is very welcoming, modern and tastefully decorated with comfortable chairs. Our check-in was smooth, only taking a moment because they were expecting us. The rooms matched the lobby - spacious and clean with a quiet air-conditioning system. Two comfortable double beds with all the amenities. We were happy to see a large bathroom and a walk-in shower with soap, shampoo and great water pressure. Breakfast was excellent with lots of variety and something that is a rare find - great coffee! The hotel offered that personal touch, like when the manager, Kelly asked how our stay was. Kelly was incredibly friendly and the kind of manager that appreciated feedback. Thank you for an amazing stay that left us rested and refuelled for a full day of shopping!

I love the Hilton hotel chain between vacations and my husband's business trips, my family stays in one at least once a month. I wasn't planning to stay so this was a late booking on a Saturday afternoon and it was one of the least expensive (35,000 pts. And I believe it was $135/ night) Hiltons along the path from the east to Niagara Falls. But it was at least 25 minutes from the toll road and another 30 mins to the freeway/ border Crossing). It was fine. I was able to park in an available diamond spot (which rarely happens on a Saturday night). Check in was fine but no diamond gift snack. However the lady the next morning offered me a coke or candy, but was really hoping for a bottle water. Apparently they ran out the day before. There were only 2 towels and two hand towels, no wash clothes, I love that they use the large refill bottles for soap/ shampoo etc... great for the environment. I know others have complained but I applaud this feature. However no recycling in the actual entrance or breakfast area so all the plastic items had to be placed in the trash. Overall clean which is really the most important part for me. Breakfast was nice. The lady doing the breakfast area was very prompt and attentive doing her job. Two thumbs up to her. Breakfast has several options so everyone should be able to find something they will love.
